My Everyday Essentials: Skin Care + Makeup Routine
I honestly feel a little hesitant--and almost silly-- for sharing about my everyday essentials when it comes to my skincare and makeup routine (I am NOT a makeup artist or skincare guru!), but I've been asked again and again by my IG following and figured it was time to write a post to let you in on my (not so secret) everyday, all-natural + non-toxic essentials that keep my skin glowing + radiant (even in the transition from season-to-season). This isn't necessarily the order I use these products, but I wanted to let you in on what I use religiously for my nighttime routine. This month has been coined as "Self Care September" and while I don't have a hard and fast self-care system, I gladly count my skincare routine as my own simple, non-negotiable self-care. I look forward to this routine every night and really love it to help ease into my evenings with a fresh face.
1. No. 3 Balancing + Charcoal Facial Mask
This mask is hands down my FAVORITE. I'm kind of obsessed with charcoal everything right now, but this has to be one of the hardest-working products in this line-up. I don't use it every night, but about 3-4 times a week. It's dry here in CO and I already have a tendency toward dry skin, but this mask seems to **magically** absorb the excess oils from days in the summer heat. As we transition into fall, I will most likely use this product 1-2 times a week. I let it sit for 10-15 minutes, grab a yogurt, and catch up on my latest Netflix show (right now it's British Baking Show season 6)!
2. Charcoal Bar
Yep. Charcoal. ERRRYTHANG. This bar. Is. Amazing. Even Jake loves it. So I had to start getting him his own. I swear by this little beauty booster. It saved my skin during my acne-prone pregnancy flare-ups. This bar is basically my beauty buddy all day, every day. I use it to cleanse at night and it works like the mask, removing all the excess oils without stripping my skin and irritating it. Which, again, with sensitive skin, that was always a worry. No more!
3. Overnight Resurfacing Peel
When all seems dull and gray, this is my go-to. Ok, that's a little dramatic, but if my SKIN seems dull and gray, this product smooths and brightens my complexion overnight.
4. Cleansing Balm.
It's usually after an art showing or big event that I wear layers of makeup (but even then, I'm pretty simple!) and this facial cleaner does an amazing job of deeply cleansing my skin all while moisturizing. I take a pea-sized amount and massage it into my face and gently wipe everything away with a warm cloth. It smells amazing and feels even more so.

Minus my mascara, bronze + blush (which 2/3 are also from BC), this trio is literally my everyday morning routine. After a light cleansing (usually just a warm washcloth and a spritz of charcoal balancing facial mist) I combine these three to keep my skin happy + fresh all day long.
1. Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer
With SPF, I never go without this on my face. I spend a lot of time outside with my family and I love that it's not greasy like other SPF formulas I've tried in the past. It's an all-time favorite and it gives my skin an even tone that lasts all day. (Psst, I use this AFTER the Countermatch Lotion!)
2. Countermatch Adaptive Moisture Lotion
Super lightweight. Dreamy. Everything I want in a moisturizer. Combating dryness, it hydrates the portions of my skin that need it most throughout the day while maintaining a dewy feel all over. I'm hooked. I use this on my face and neck morning and night and simply love how light and non-greasy it is and how POWERFUL it is. It kicks booty.
3. Touchup Skin Concealer Pen
I work two businesses from home while raising two babies. I don't wear a lot of makeup. But I find that THIS concealer is the best I've tried. A lot of formulas either miss the mark in the color matching or the longevity or both. I find myself dabbing this under my eyes on days after long evening work shifts or after the kids have taken turns getting up out of bed. It makes me feel (and look!) less tired. That and coffee.

If I had to put my favorites in a bag or recommend to you what I love most, this group would be it. I won't reiterate the numbers I've already gone through above even though I'll still list them below so you remember which is which. Okay, okay, so it's not skincare. BUT I thought that while I'm mentioning my favorite everyday go-to's, I might as well add what I'm currently wearing from our collection on the daily.
