At Everyday Heirloom, we're all about creating tangible reminders of God's faithfulness for women for their everyday lives. Our vision, since 2018, has been to create wearable works of art that women can pass down a legacy of faithfulness -- but instead of waiting decades down the line, we wanted to make this a reality for women right now, in their everyday lives.
Inspired by the beloved hymn, "The Old Rugged Cross" this wearable artwork takes its inspiration from Jake Weidmann's life-sized carving of a cross that illuminates this hymn for a new generation.
"Then Jesus told his disciples, 'If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.'" - Matthew 16:24
Following the unique, one-of-a-kind craftsmanship that is EH tradition, the Heirloom Cross represents a lifetime of faithful dedication to its message and the honing of our artistic skill to do justice by it.
Like our other unique hand-carved designs, the Heirloom Cross first began as a wax carving which was meticulously sculpted by artist Jake Weidmann under a high-powered microscope. It was then cast into precious metals and set with a diamond in the center of the cross, held by abundant flourishing acanthus leaf which clings to the cross, just as we also cling to the emblem of suffering and shame.
Acanthus leaf has long served as a symbol of on-going friendship and/or relationship, especially within the art of heraldic tradition. Here, too, the acanthus leaf represents the friendship we have with God the Father through the Son of Man, securing our eternal heritage through the blood of Christ.
We chose the diamond for it’s long-standing representation of life, light and reflection of the sun -- and in this case -- the Son, who is the Light of the World and the Light of Life (John 8:12). Diamonds embody purity, perfection and invincible spiritual power. Additionally, it is the stone of commitment, faithfulness, and covenant promise.

MATERIAL + SIZE
Choose between sterling silver, 10k yellow gold or 14k yellow gold with matching adjustable chain. The small version measures 1" tall x 1/2" wide (compared to the original size of 1 1/4" tall and 3/4")
We recommend chain length 14 - 16" for ages 5 - 12 years old.
STONE DETAIL
Diamonds used to create this design are lab grown and mimic the color and clarity used in the original design.

Our jewelry collection is shipped in our custom Heirloom Blue boxes printed in gold foil. If purchasing multiple pieces, they will be packaged three designs to a box. If you are purchasing gifts and would like your designs packaged separately, please specify in the Notes to Seller at checkout.
