As the Beloved, we don't chase after perishable crowns, but imperishable ones. Our eyes are set on things above with discipline, vision, and hope. Our faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1-4) and we but lay up for ourselves treasures in heaven - treasure that cannot be stolen, broken or destroyed. We know the truth that where our treasure is, there our heart will be also. (Matthew 6:21).
Inspired by the crown of life and the laurel wreath we read about in scripture, this pendant was carved with 40 total leaves specifically chosen for the way the number 40 represents trial and victory throughout scripture:
40 days and 40 nights it rained on Noah and the ark. 40 days Moses spent on Mount Sinai. 40 years the Israelites walked through the wilderness. 40 days Jesus fasted before he began his ministry...
Let us be reminded that for those who run the race of faith, they will be given an imperishable crown (1 Corinthians 9:25); that for those who persevere through various trials, that they will be crowned with life (James 1:12 and Rev. 2:10).
